DVD Resurrections had a chance to interview the director and founder Fred Vogel of Toetags Pictures which was so different to other interviews i have read over the net i just had to add this one.
First of all, what is a day in your shoes like? What do you do from waking to hitting the hay each day?
I am a work-oholic. When I’m not working, I’m thinking about movie making.
Who was the first person to tell you getting into what you are known for was a crazy idea, and at what point did you agree (even if it was momentarily)?
I’ve had lots of people tell me I’m crazy for making the movies that I make..and you know something their right.
Have you made contacts using the Internet that you know you wouldn't have if it weren't for the web being so accessible?
The web is a great thing for helping you make connections but with or without the Internet it still comes down to who you know.
Funny how it usually works. We grow up wanting to be firefighters or nurses, then due to the glory of

media, rock stars, actors, etc. And then reality sits in... We end up being ourselves... Good or bad... What's your story?
I’ve known since I was 4 years old that I wanted to work in movies. When all the kids in my high school were trying to find out what to do with their lives ,I was on my path to becoming a Special Effects Artist which became the path to film making.
What one thing haven't you done you would still like to?
Make a film about Boris Karloff.
Tell me one of the negative aspects of your field that everyone needs to know. Do not say there are none! The biggest lie about your work is:
I hate the jealousy that comes along with film making. The movie business is not an easy business, you have to be prepared for anything because just around the corner there is someone trying to stab you in your back.
What are your 5 favorite or most frequently visited websites?
www.toetagpictures.com www.imdb.com www.pro-rock.com www.xploitedcinema.com www.rue-morgue.com
Tell me something people do not realize about you, maybe it's not a secret, maybe it's not anything special, but it is something no one else has ever asked you about until now. What's boring to you is news to everyone else...
I’m a very down to earth person just like most Horror Fans. I think it’s sad how people still judge others by what they wear or what they are into.
What's the craziest thing you have experienced in your work? Maybe it's something you witnessed and didn't participate in, but what would shock us, make us laugh or show us another side to things besides the obvious...
If you’ve seen my movies, then you’ve seen what craziness I’ve experienced. Other than that I must plead the 5th.
Anything embarrassing happen when YOU were trying to look cool? What? Embarrassing and crazy are different things!
I am the most accident-prone person, so I’ve had lots of embarrassing moments. The thing is to play it off..like the time I smacked my head off a light when I was doing a make-up demo.
Tell us a few sites that friends of yours own that would appreciate a plug:

The biggest PLUS FACTOR about your line of business is?
Meeting all the great fans who love Horror just as much as I do.
Did the people around you change when you went out looking to succeed in this field? Sometimes those who weren't so supportive in the beginning, suddenly become supportive or possibly vice versa; they became thorns in your side...
People change no matter what. They change even more when you do well. I’ve lost a lot of friends on my way but made my share of new ones as well.
What question makes you crazy whenever asked and hopefully saying so here will prevent it from being asked again?
Why do you make these kinds of movies.
Who do you see on TV, in film or hear on the radio that just makes you wonder how in the hell they got where they are?
Paris Hilton, what does she do again besides spend her daddy’s money?
Tell me a joke!
An Irish guy goes into a bar in America and asks for three separate shots of Whiskey. He drinks one, waits a little bit, then drinks the second one, waits a little bit more, and then drinks the third one. This goes on for a few days, and finally the bartender tells him: "You know sir, I can put all three shots in one glass for you". The guy replies "No, I prefer it this way. You see, I'm very close to my two brothers. They are both still in Ireland, and this represents a drink for each of us. When I drink like this, I feel like we are drinking together again, all three of us".
This goes on for several months, and then one day the guy walks into the pub and asks for only two shots. The bartender is worried that maybe something happened to one of his brothers. "Is everything OK"? He asks. "What do you mean", answers the guy. "Well, for months you have been asking for three shots. Now you order two. Did something happen to one of your brothers?", the bartender asks. "No", replies the Irish guy, "They’re fine. It's just that I quit drinking".
What music group do you listen to most often and what is their best album?
Clutch and their best album is their self titled album “Clutch”
Who should hang up their hat in your business? Why?
Anyone who stops loving what they do.
Tell me your favorite movie genre, name a few titles, think video rental or dvd's you own and watch the most:
Horror and these are some of my favorites. Frankenstein 1931, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974, Hellraiser, and The Bride of Frankenstein 1934.
What TV show do you miss from childhood... I used to love Land of the Giants and Dance Fever (kidding on that one)....
BJ and the Bear, The Dukes of Hazard, and Lancelot Link Secret Chimp.
Ever had someone from your past try and track you down and bug the tar out of you? I know this seems like the same questions as, "did people change" but it isn't meant to be.... Maybe we can put a little tact in people's future efforts here...
I like running into people from my past. I never had anyone bug me YET.
If you were anyone besides yourself, who would you be (even for just a day, on a good day, of course) and did you emulate them growing up or is this a recent admiration you have acquired?
I would want to stay me; at least I would know what I’m in for. Even people I admire have problems.
Who in your business would you like to say, "Hey, remember the time someone hooked you up and now look where you are? How about hooking me up with... (blank)?" Insert the BLANK....
I don’t think I would say that. Like I said before it’s all who you know. There are different ways of saying hey hook me up with out saying that if you know what I mean.
What did we forget?
Those were very different questions then I’m used to. Thanks a lot and check out www.toetagpictures.com for the latest news and my new film The Redsin Tower is coming.
