Old rockers never die they just wait for the reformation gig.  A warts and all look behind the scenes as Oz legends The Angels go back on the road
after years of legal litigation. Not so much sex, drugs and rock and roll as back rubs, bottled water and rock and roll but at least the old farts have
still got the rock and roll. (though it would have been nice to have seen some more of it!)

For those of us of an ‘indeterminate’ age
The Angels were part of an unholy trinity that also included Cold Chisel and AC/DC.  These were the
bands of our youth, hard rocking, beer drinking days of old cars, tape decks, drive in movies and stinky finger.  Cheap liquor, underage girls and
blue balls were the order of the day, as was owning a copy of at least two albums by each of the above, preferably on cassette so you could play
them in the car, howling along out of tune as you and yr buddies hit the main street looking for some girl to at least smile in yr direction.  Ah sweet
youth.

And the boys in the band haven’t forgotten those days either.  Despite a major split in the band some years ago when lead singer Doc Neeson
took the Brewster brothers to court over their use of the Angels moniker, when what is arguably their greatest album
Face To Face was reissued
in a special 30th anniversary edition the boys put aside their differences, actually talked to each other and got the band back where it belonged,
on stage and not in court.

This fly on the wall doco gives us an inside look at the first historical gathering of what was one of Australia’s greatest rock lineups, after years of
bitterness and circling of vultures (sorry, lawyers but they look the same) Doc walks into the room, the boys say their hellos and the music starts
again.  But its not all beer and oxygen tanks… there’s still tensions, still a feeling of this camp versus that camp, the songwriters vs the drummer,
Doc vs everyone, management teams clashing, all the primadonna stuff you imagine goes on actually does but hell as soon as the band hits the
stage it all melts away.

They may be fatter, older and balder but they’ve still got it, damn have they still got it.  I’m not a big fan of reformation gigs, of old farts getting
back together to do the nostalgia tour but I gotta say, these bastards did a damn good job of it.  And this is a fascinating look behind the scenes
at the bitchiness, the business and the joy that a band gets out of playing music they love.

Oh and in the end Doc isn’t the problem, drummer Buzz Bidstrup is.  Now that’s a drummer joke I really liked!

in court over naming rights. This is the story of how
The Angels fell apart, and how they tried to put it
all back together again.

dressing rooms, and centre stage - as the five original members of
The Angels try to re-discover the
magic that first made them rock stars.

No Way, Get F*#ked, F*#k Off!, is a remarkably personal story, full of raw emotion, great music and
candid insights into a true blue rock n’ roll legend.
