A young high school girl named Phyllis Loden (Rhona Brody), is constantly being bullied by the popular girls in high school about her weight and
appearance every single day. After coming home from a hectic day at school, Phyllis receives a strange letter in the mail congratulating her entry
into this year's Slivis Slough Queen Beauty Pageant. Not really knowing, the sole purpose is to give Muffy Fairlane (Kathryn A. Mensik) the upper
hand to win the beauty pageant and so none of her close friends Alison Murphy (Kimberly Ann Kurtenbach), Elizabeth Mckay (Tammy Pescatelli)
and Shelley Styles (Laura Schutter) will look like fools coming in last place. Plus it gives Muffy and her friends a good chance to embarrass Phyllis
in front of the whole school. It's the big day, and Phyllis decides to take her cat along to the pageant for good luck, not realizing that contestant
Elizabeth McKay has allergic reactions to cats and begins sneezing, and blames Phyllis for why she didn't win the pageant. It is bad enough the
girls have humiliated her in front of the school, they go one step further by killing her precious cat, by breaking into her house and locking it in the
microwave oven, when Phyllis was on a date with her closest friend Paul (Matthew Speak). Phyllis snaps and has now had enough of their abuse
and decides to take revenge by slaughtering those unsuspecting competitors / murderers one by one.
Camp Motion Pictures has just released another DVD title to their 80's collection called Beauty Queen Butcher! which is roughly a cross between
Carrie meets Prom Night (well so it said on the back of the cover.) Partly it is true, but sadly this movie stinks to high heaven of bad acting, the
story just forever drags on, hardly no blood or gore in the film, no nudity and to top it off the ending sucked ass. I would rather watch my own dog
lick his nuts for 118mins than to watch this film again. I know this film was from the 80's and shot on video, and I really tend to look for the good
parts in a low budget film. But honestly there is nothing at all interesting about this movie one bit.
The killing scenes are pretty lame, you get to see one beauty contestant disemboweled by the crown (which is made of plastic?), another is choked
to death with a ribbon and another is smacked in the back of the head with a type iron. The fourth contestant was smart enough to leave town,
since whoever received the crown sooner or later was murdered. I guess special effects team only had $10 worth of tomato sauce, and corn syrup
while shooting the film.
Sorry guys but this film definitely falls into our "Must Avoid Spotlight", so I can't recommend anyone buy this film on DVD right now. If you want to
check out other awesome titles from Camp Motion Pictures, your best bet is to go for the Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy, Cannibal Campout and Ghoul
School which we at DVD Resurrections had the pleasure of reviewing already.

Phyllis Loden is a shy, overweight teenager relentlessly picked on by the popular girls of her high school. To make matters worse, Phyllis has been entered into the local beauty queen pageant for the sole purpose of humiliating her in front of the entire school. The prank works to perfection, with the poor girl devastated by the cruel treatment of her classmates. But it becomes the final straw that pushes Phyllis over the edge and into a dark, bloody, vengeful place in her abused and shattered psyche. Armed with implements of slaughter, Phyllis hunts down the unsuspecting competitors one by one to make each of them pay in the most horrifying way. She'll have their pretty little heads... and wear the beauty queen crown.
