Just before Christmas, young Sally (Lilly Burril) and Ruby (Jessie Hutchinson) witnesses three lunatic murderers break into their home and shoot
their father (Gunnar Hansen). The trio begin one by one to rape and bash their mother (Fran Lane) until their father makes it to hist feet, grabs
the chainsaw, and seeks revenge on the intruders. When falling to the ground he tells Sally to take care of her baby brother Rudy. Ten years pass
and still mentally and emotionally traumatized by what she witnessed when she was younger, Sally (April Monique Burril) just makes ends meet by
working during the day as the quiet town librarian. But at night she becomes a sadistic chainsaw wielding maniac who enjoys watching and
re-enacting horror movie scenes with her younger brother Rudy (Alec Joseph), a cross dressing transvestite who also helps her with the killings.
Sally doesn't realise a young, single and rich businessman named Steve Kellerman (Mark Redfield) has recently purchased Sally's vacant family
home which both of her parnets were murdered in, and Steve is thinking about selling it to another businessman named Harvey Benton (David R.
Calhoun) and his hot, slutty attorney, Cynthia Prescott (Kristin Hudson). They both offer Steve a large amount of cash so they can begin building
condos on the propertly. Sally becomes furious and is out for blood; she begins to do what she loves to do best and that's to show them all the
end of her chainsaw.
For about two years now I have been wanting to check out Jimmyo Burril's Chainsaw Sally. Finally our friends at Shock-O-Rama have picked up this
title and chock of block it with interviews and trailers. Director and writer Jimmyo Burril especially made this film for his wife April Monique Burril who
stars as Sally, who also admires and worships the mother of all chainsaw film slashers Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and
obviously Hooper's film is referenced by having Gunnar Hansen (the original Leatherface) also appear in this film as Sally's father. I can't praise
Chainsaw Sally enough, guys! It's nice to see Gunnar Hansen with a chainsaw once again, but also we finally get to see the one and only, "The
Godfather of Gore," yes, that's right Herschell Gordon Lewis! Lewis plays a small role as Mr. Gordon who runs a handyman's store. Both Gunnar
Hansen and Herschell Gordon Lewis did a remarkably outstanding job on screen, and it was a real treat to see such horror legends in the same
film. Gunnar's involvement went as far as to give director Burril a few ideas how he should use the saw for the revenge kill scenes on the three
murderers! Well, the guy is a pro with a chainsaw; almost every film he has been in, he uses one.
This is the first time i have seen April Monique Burril in a film. April has also appeared in a musical horror film called Silver Scream which was
released in 2003, which is also directed by her husband Jimmyo Burril. But Chainsaw Sally is the first film I have seen with her in it, and I gotta
hand it to April, she definitely fit the character. Her character was believable and the most entertaining by far, and I am still shocked by how good
her performance was. Keeping things in the family, young Sally is played by Jimmyo and Apri'ls daughter, Lilly Burril, who did a fantastic job as well.
Alec Joseph, who plays as Sally's brother Rudy (definitely one strange character), had me in tears with the way he dressed and the things he said.
When Sally and Rudy where doing a re-enactment of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, he decided to put his own spin on it and begins to act like
Jamie Lee Curtis from the Halloween films, instead of Marilyn Burns (who non-coincidentally plays a character named Sally in the original Texas
Chain Saw Massacre). But Alec also suited and captured his character very well, and I can't fault the guy at all. Just wait until you see him in the
nailgun scene. You are going to love that scene.
OK now for the gore level. Chainsaw Sally offers a fair bit of fresh kill scenes that I have never seen. You get to see some guy getting his cock cut
off with a straight razor blade, and then Sally making fun of him before jamming a sparkler into his bloody stump, and a scene with a women
getting acid poured down her throat while a bucket is placed underneath her to catch her organs that fall out of her ass. What's that? You wanna
know more? Well, how about a guy getting the chainsaw rammed down this throat? Shit, I think I have told you enough already. I don't wanna
spoil the whole movie for you, so you just have to watch the film yourself if you want to know more. So yeah, you get a good amount of gore and
blood in Chainsaw Sally, so gorehounds grab your wallets and you know what to do...
There were only two faults I could find in Jimmyo Burril's Chainsaw Sally. The first is that the audio/boom man D.J Summitt was kinda too close or
too far away in a few scenes. Sometimes I found some scenes in Chainsaw Sally annoying to listen too; it became muffled, distorted or hard to
hear when the cast was talking. But it wasn't to the point that you wanted to turn off the movie; it's still bearable to listen too, I just wished the
sound was clearer in those scenes. Secondly, on the back of the DVD it does say their is an interview with Herschell Gordon Lewis, which sadly
isn't true. I couldn't find the damn thing in the DVD extras, so maybe they either misplaced it, hid it as a DVD easter egg, or I went blind, but it was
no where to be found on the DVD.
Director Jimmyo Burril is one hell of a filmmaker; he truly did this film justice and the script was also very well written. Now after watching Chainsaw
Sally, I'll keep a close eye out for other projects he does in the near future. Unfortunately I don't think I will enjoy watching his 2003 horror
musical Silver Scream, as those type of films don't do anything for me personally.
Shock-O-Rama's Chainsaw Sally is so filled with extras it will definitely keep you busy for another hour after you have watched the movie. One
thing with Shock-O-Rama they know how to look after their viewers in the DVD extras apartment. Chainsaw Sally is a film all Texas Chainsaw
Massacre fans need to check out very soon! If you are looking for a sexy, chainsaw loving, maniac babe, carving and tearing into disrespectful low
life's idiots and making mince meat out of them, well this is the movie you have been waiting for. I highly recommend you purchase this film today
and don't wait any longer, cause eventually someone you know who isn't as thoughtful as me will spoil the whole film for you. And when do you
ever get to see Herschell Gordon Lewis and Gunnar Hansen in the same film? NEVER. Except in Chainsaw Sally.

Sally is a young woman living in a small Maryland town who lives two lives: a calmly librarian by day, and a brutal serial killer by night where she randomly targets any man or woman whom even slightly upsets her. Sally lives with her reclusive, transvestite younger brother Rudy whom assists in her with the killings. Both Sally and Ruby were traumatized as youngsters when both of them witnessed three lunatics murder their mother and father before they, with 'Daddy's' help, killed the three murderous psychos. In the meantime, a young businessman, named Steve Kellerman, arrives in town to buy a piece of land which a ruthless land developer, named Harvey Benton, wants to develop condos on which is the land of Sally and Ruby's former house, vacant since the night of their parents murder. Not wanting to have change in their lives, Sally plots to eliminate the interlopers to ensure she continue her killing spree lifestyle.
