The Hitcher is about a young man by the name of Jim Halsey (C. Thomas Howell) and he is driving a car across the Texas desert to California,
when he decides to be a good Samaritan one rainy night and Jim ends picking up a hitch hiker "which was the worst mistake he has ever made"
named John Ryder (Rutger Hauer) which turns out to be the deranged murder that the police are trying to find, due to a number of murders across
the Texas highway. Ryder gets his kicks out of killing everyone who picks him up no matter how pretty, old or disabled they are he will gut them &
kill them dead. So Jim luckily ends up kicking Ryder out of his car door while cruising on the highway after Ryder pulls out a knife & tells Jim he is
going to kill him. But this doesn't just piss Ryder off, he turns it into a game of cat & mouse and he starts to stalk and kill anyone who gets near or
talks to Jim, to Ryder its just a bit of fun.

The Hitcher is a awesome movie, the first time i watched it i enjoyed every second of it. Rutger Hauer plays a awesome roll in being this deranged
murder "John Ryder" & C. Thomas Howell who plays Jim Halsey who is on the run though out the whole movie. Director Robert Harmon uses heaps
of awesome car chases, gun fights, explosions which puts you on the edge of your seat though out the whole entire film. After a while you think
this killer isn't going to give up & he doesn't care if he dies or not, which makes
The Hitcher a wicked movie. Ryder just keeps on playing mind
games right to the every end.

You will also be seeing a remake of this in 2007, So i highly recommend  you watch this before the remake arrives. Any horror fan will love this
movie, its probably a good chance you have already seen it. If not go rent it out now & watch it and trust me this one will end up in your collection
on DVD for good, like it did in mine.
