WOW! What a highly entertaining cheesefest this turned out to be!! A movie about serial killer alien Klowns, done in just the right fashion to be a
throwback to the 50's and 60's sci-fi movies and to still have some 80's style cheese value!
A young couple, Mike & Debbie, are up on lovers lane when they see a shooting star hit the earth near by. An old farmer sees it too and decides to
investigate, and finds a giant circus tent in his back paddock!! Looking around the tent the Klowns get him before Mike & Debbie show up. They
find the tent as well and decide to go in and investigate. One room they venture into has all these dead people hanging in cocoons made out of
Fairy Floss!! A battle with the Klowns ensures as Mike & Debbie are shot with a popcorn gun, after which one of the Klowns makes a balloon dog
that picks up there scent to chase them to their car!!! Getting away from the Klowns they head to the local cop shop to inform them of what is
going on. Debbie's Ex-boyfriend, Dave Hanson,is a young rookie there and believes there story until Sergeant Mooney (John Vernon, the dean from
Animal House) walks in hears it and dismisses it all as bullshit. Dave Drops Debbie off at home on the way to the site only to find an empty paddock
with a hole in the ground. Debbie decides to have a shower and get rid of the popcorn in her clothes. Whilst in the shower, the popcorn mutates
and turns the washing basket and toilet into Jack in the boxes which attack Debbie!
Meanwhile people all over town are getting turned into fairy floss and the phone is ringing off the hook at the cop shop, but Mooney just puts it
down as elaborate prank until one of the Klowns comes barging in and kills him!! Dave returns to the station to find a Klown sittin on a chair with
Mooney being used as a ventriloquists dummy!!!! It is here that discovers you can kill the Klowns by blowing there nose off!!
More & More people are disappearing in bizarre ways until the Klowns get Debbie and put her into a balloon. It is now time to take action against
the Klowns, with Mike finding his 2 Goofy friends who own an Ice Cream truck! Following the Klowns they discover home base has been set up at
the Amusement park. At the main entrance they find the security guard who the Klowns had killed with Cream pies that eat flesh! Once inside the
ship everything turns into a big fun house with Klowns coming from all directions, until right at the end of the maze a big ass Klown comes from out
of the roof. He is twice the size of all the other ones and kinda reminds me off a boss dude from a Playstation game! Debbie & Mike escape while
Dave stays to fight the Boss Klown. The tent turns into a big spinning top and starts heading for outer space! Once Dave kills the boss everyone in
the ship comes back down to earth to live happily ever after.
All in all good fun for a Saturday night with pizza and beer. Pretty average acting, a good sense of Cheese and some cool dialogue make this a firm
Cult favourite.
The R1 DVD from MGM is a awesome transfer. With heaps of extras & commentary's that you will enjoy.
