The world is slowly coming to a end, Armageddon is finally here. The dead have risen from their graves and are now walking the streets of ruined
towns by day, at night vampires awaken from their caskets in search for wandering survivors to feed upon, while the alleyways and backyards are
infested with Werewolves hunting in packs of what man or women is left. As people try to get on with every day life, no matter how much chaos,
haunting howling screams or blood flow in the streets, bills need to be paid. Jack (Billy Garberina - Feeding the Masses, The Stink of Flesh) and
Alex (Adam Jarmon Brown - Creature from the Hillbilly Lagoon, Collecting Rooftops) are on the hunt for employment as just recently they were
just fired from the local video store. They soon find themselves browsing through a newspaper hoping to find a job that is suitable for their needs,
but most of all not get fired. Alex comes across a ad in the newspaper where a extermination company called Zom-B-Gone which are in desperate
need to recruit a few more exterminators to wipe out the hordes of the living dead. As Jack and Alex suite up, Alex who is locked and loaded with
his semi auto long ranged rifle, while Jack prefers hand to hand combat or the use of his trusty baseball bat in desperate needs. Unfortunately for
Jack his selfish, lazy, and unemployed girlfriend Penny (Brandy Bluejacket) doesn't like the fact he is putting his life and relationship on the line for
a shitty pay check, but most of all thinks Alex is a bad influence. But to make matters even more worst Penny’s ex-boyfriend Clark (Mark Chavez -
Evil Night, Gimme Skelter) arrives in town and word has it he is the unholy master of a underground coven of bloodthirsty vampires, Jack and Alex
have their orders to take out the leader one way or another.
Necroville was directed by Richard Griffin and co-directed by Billy Garberina who also happen to star in the movie as Jack, but thanks to
Shock-O-Rama for releasing another low budget zombie comedy directly to DVD. Necroville is a movie that needs not to be taken too seriously, its
very low budget, all the visual effects are cleverly all done by Photoshop (as shown in a video tutorial in the DVD extras) and the acting was
balancing on borderline. If you are a lover of B-grade movies then you'll definitely get your monies worth, but for those of you who are looking for a
high quality action packed gorefest, sorry guys you might as well go on to another review right now.
The acting in Necroville was surprisingly entertaining, enjoyable and slightly outrageous from time to time on a low budget level. There were other
times the characters of Jack and Alex did in fact get on my nerves, especially at the beginning of the movie, as they both reminded me too much of
another two characters Randal and Dante from Kevin Smith's Clerks (1994) who also happened to work in a video store and corner store. When I
first got wind of this DVD being released by Shock-O-Rama I couldn't wait to watch it, since knowing that actor Adam Jarmon Brown had a leading
role side by side with actor/co-director Billy Garberina. After watching Adam Jarmon Brown performance in another Shock-O-Rama release called
Creature from the Hillbilly Lagoon (2005) which was fucking outstanding, though sadly in Necroville I have to say it was a huge let own that
his character wasn't as half as funny in Creature from the Hillbilly Lagoon and to know he had co-wrote the script with Billy Garberina was
disappointing at the least. But don't get me wrong, the guy was slightly funny at times but what got me chuckling from time to time was his face
expressions in a good or bad crisis. Billy Garberina was probably the guy who stole the spotlight, but once again his performance wasn't as top
notch when comparing it to another movie he was cast in called The Stink of Flesh (2005) which was released by TempeDVD. Dedicated B-grade
fans of Shock-O-Rama or TempeDVD will notice that this movie has a fair few cameos of other actors from other low budget titles. I would have to
say about 70% of the cast have also been cast together in other well known B-grade films such as The Stink of Flesh (2005), Wedding Slashers
(2006), Creature from the Hillbilly Lagoon (2005) and Gimme Skelter (2007). At times I did find myself enjoying this movie to the full extent,
while at other times I rolled my eyes at the goofball dialogue, hoping for the good scare factor to kick in, though sadly this didn't happen at all.
When watching Necroville you will also notice that this movie does in fact pay homage to a great number of well known movies such as Clerks
(1994), a zombie rising up out of the ground like you see in Lucio Fulci's masterpiece Zombie (1979), a zombie massacre scene involving a very
long buzz saw which reminded me of Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 (1990), a scene that looked like the ending of Doom
(2005) where you get to see first person game play effect with the barrel of the gun showing. There are about a handful more of other scenes I
don’t want to spoil for you, but you'll pick up on very easily when watching this movie.
The gore factor is fairly high for a low budget film. The effects are not mind blowing, but there’s enough to get any average gorehound through the
movie. You'll get to witness zombies, vampires and werewolves tearing apart helpless victims on the streets, in clubs, a girls sorority house and
even in a private BSM event. Watching Jack and Alex going to town on the zombies was a real treat to watch also. Though it could of done with a
few more bloody limbs and a bit more blood splatter to tell you the truth, but in the end of the film I think horror buffs will get their gore reward.
But there was one scene that did kind of roll my guts a bit, seeing the head vampire going in for the growl while the chick is on her rag, well that
did it for me. Kudos on that scene.
The tits and ass factor is very low, in fact I don't think I even got to see at least one fucking boob...... Wait there, I think I did see her nipples
showing through her bra and a bit of fluff through one of the sorority girls panties when she was running around in the corridors in the sorority
house with her girlfriends. It’s a shame the movie didn't have at least a few skin on skin action.
In the DVD extras department, Shock-O-Rama have always managed to look after us. They have jammed packed this DVD release with a audio
commentary with directors Billy Garberina and Richard Griffin, behind-the-scenes footage, a small featurette with actor Mark Chavez doing goofball
face expressions in make up, a Necroville Visual FX footage showing how they did the visual effects with Photoshop, 2 short films called Legend of
Aerreus Kane and Cum-uppance and not to mention the good old Shock-O-Rama Trailer Vault.
Necroville is a film you'll either love or hate. If you are a B-grade movie lover and enjoy watching other previous titles from Shock-O-Rama well
then this movie is right for you. Even those who are huge fans of Kevin Smith's Clerks (1994) will also get a kick out of this movie. But for the rest
of you, there is nothing worse than buying a DVD that you are going to hate, so I highly suggest you play it safe and rent this movie before you
buy it directly on DVD.

Fired from their jobs as video store clerks, two Slackers must wage war on the living dead just to earn a living wage in a town overrun by Zombies, Vampires and Werewolves. Described by the Albuquerque press as “if Kevin Smith wrote Ghostbusters”, NECROVILLE follows long time friends Jack and Alex as they become members of the local extermination company, Zom-B-Gone, only to discover that even ravenous hordes of the undead pale in comparison to the horrors of Jack’s nightmare girlfriend.
