THE KILLING FIELDS (2 DISC SPECIAL EDITION)

New York Times correspondent Sydney Schanberg (Sam
Waterston) is sent to Cambodia in 1972 to cover the war between
the revolutionary Khmer Rouge and the government.&nbspHe
meets Dith Pran (Haing S. Nor in an Academy Award® winning
performance): a local journalist who becomes his trusted
assistant, interpreter, and friend.&nbspWhen the Khmer Rouge
troops enter Phnom Penh in April 1975 and seize control of the
country, Pran throws himself at their mercy to save the lives of
Schanberg and several other foreign correspondents.

What follows for Pran, and for all Cambodians, is unspeakable
horror.&nbspWhilst Schanberg spends four and a half years
seeking news of his friend, nearly half the population of seven
million are massacred by the Khmer Rouge or die of starvation
and disease.&nbspThe once rich Cambodian countryside now
bears a new name: “The Killing Fields”.

Based on Pulitzer prize winning Schanberg’s 1980 article for the
New York Times, “The Death and Life of Dith Pran”, this is the
story of Pran’s heroism and the struggle for the two men to
reunite.

DOGS IN SPACE (BLU-RAY)

Set against the backdrop of Melbourne's late '70s punk rock
scene, Dogs in Space chronicles life in a chaotic, squalid
share-house. Hippies, addicts, students and radicals fill their days
and nights with sex, drugs, parties and television.
Writer/director RICHARD LOWENSTEIN balances a series of
chaotic vignettes with the central story of the romance between
housemates Sam (MICHAEL HUTCHENCE), the lead singer of the
band, Dogs in Space and his lover Anna (SASKIA POST) as it spirals
out of control.

Hutchence is a brilliant symbol of reckless youth in this, his first
dramatic screen role, giving Dogs in Space instant cult status
upon its release.
This first ever DVD release offers a wealth of extras, including
Lowenstein's recently premiered documentary on the Melbourne
underground music scene of the time, 'We're Livin' On Dog Food',
which features - among other treats - exclusive footage of
Michael Hutchence on the set of Dogs In Space.
