An American actress named Nina (Raine Brown) is sick and tired of the hassle in the
film industry and decides to fly over to Germany to visit her old friend Michael (Joe
Zaso) who she hasn't seen in a long time. Michael who has had a deep crush on her and
believes she is the love of his life is surprised that she is going to fly from one side of
the world to him, so he and his flat mate David (Andre Reissig) wait for her arrival.
Michael decides that he wants to do something fun and interesting with Nina, so going
camping in the woods for the weekend would be the ideal thing to do, but he doesn't
want Nina to think that he is a sleaze so he invites his buddy David along for the
weekend getaway. Little do they know, an inbred family  has been living and feeding
off the wildlife and  have now got the taste for human flesh. The family  have been
viscously attacking tourists, campers and anyone who walks the muddy forest trails,
consequently they end  up being slaughtered and devoured by the bloodthirsty
cannibals. The trio soon finds themselves surrounded deep in the forest with  nowhere
to run, their only survival is to fight or be eaten.

Barricade is a horror film that has been blasted across MySpace for the last year or so,
there is no doubt you haven't seen or probably heard of this film at some point of
time. The first time I seen the teaser trailer I was fucking hooked like a crack head
getting ready for his next fix. I couldn't wait, and now finally I had the chance to check
out this film. Barricade was written and directed by a German independent filmmaker
named Timo Rose, I never heard nor seen any of his other films such as the Mutation
trilogy, but after watching Barricade I am now kinda interested in checking out a few
of his earlier films. Barricade is a film that is very heavy on the blood and gore aspects
of horror, well it wouldn't be a horror film unless it had gore and blood right?. Timo
Rose's Barricade delivers so much blood splatter its not funny, and gore scenes that will
make your loved one vomit in your lap. But as for the story line, well its nothing new
or fresh, in fact it did remind me of The Hills Have Eyes meets Wrong Turn, to tell you
the truth. Don't get me wrong, I ain't pissing on this film one bit, cause I love those
two films to death. I kinda wished that he might of delivered something we haven't
yet seen before with Barricade.

The acting was pretty enjoyable to watch, Raine Brown (Horror, Aunt Rose) who
played Nina did a fantastic job with her character and not to mention looked awesome
on screen also, what a little cutie she is. Joe Zaso (5 Dead on the Crimson Canvas,
Machines of Love and Hate) played Michael, his acting was fucking awesome to watch
also, though I wish his character was a little more aggressive in the film, for a big guy
he didn't really do too much but scream and yell out, while Raine went to town on the
bloodthirsty ghouls. Even the man himself Timo Rose starred in Barricade, but not until
the very end of the film, so if you don't know who or what he looks like, well you'll
soon find out.

Now the gore factor is un fucking believable, within the first five minutes of the film
you will get to see people getting gutted, castrations, acid poured down some dudes
throat and then you get to see his face melt apart, throats slit open, multiple
stabbings. Fuck I could go on and on and on, trust me when I say this, if you love
watching films that are violent, bloody, gory and vulgar. Well this movie is what you
need to add to your collection, right fucking now.

I highly recommend any horror fan or gore-hounds who don't mind a little bit of indie
cinema in their DVD collection to buy this film right now. But just keep in mind, a lot
of people are going to find this film offensive and repulsive to watch. Fuck even my
wife up and left the room within the first five minutes of the film, she couldn't handle
anymore, nor can I blame her. She was lucky she didn't see the scene where one of the
cannibals cut off this chicks nipple and began to finger and fist her breast, man that
was a vile scene.

I give it a few months and Barricade will be on the customs BANNED list in many
countries worldwide, so order this DVD right now before you are too late..
