Two FBI Agents Adam Riley (David A.R. White) and Charles Baker (Kevin Downes), are sent to investigate dozens of reported cases where people have gone missing from all over the globe. While interviewing loved ones they strangely realise these people have one thing in common, they are all proud Christians who strongly believe in mighty lord Jesus Christ. As the story unfolds the US government is basically overrun by a bunch of devil-worshipping Atheists who have no tolerance for Christianity anymore as they try to shut down churches, fundraisers and make it compulsory that all US citizens are implanted with micro-chips to help battle the economy. Christianity has finally became number one on the US government’s terrorist list (knocking Bin Laden off the chart) and so does a Jewish rabbi (Brad Heller) who questioned his faith after the unexplained global event, who surprisingly has now converted to Christianity to try and help spread the word of Jesus once again, preparing for Jesus Christ who returns to earth one last time known as the “Rapture”. While those who are not willing to “hear the real truth that will set them free” they are all left to burn in hell for eternity.

The video presentation was you basic 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, though the picture quality looked like I was watching a dirty old VHS from the 80s. The picture colour quality is fairly crisp looking with a nice blend of saturation, though the film looks like it has been washed with a slight grain.

The audio is presented in a Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo surround sound with the option for those wanting to listen to it in English, Spanish, German or Italian. You also are pretty much covered when it comes to choosing subtitles not only just for the film, also the commentaries and for those of who are deaf and hard-of-hearing to help follow the dialog. The score itself is basically filled with Christian rock bands to try and give the film more of an edge sound, then again to keep those from not falling asleep due to boredom.

In the extra department Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have included the following, a commentary with Director Wes Llewellyn and Co-Writer Amanda Llewellyn, Cast Commentary with David A. R. White and Kevin Downes and a official The Moment After Trailer. After watching the film, I honestly have no interests in listening to what these people have to say. My apologies to those who want to know more, I just haven’t got the patience to listen to any of the commentaries.

This was one film I certainly am not going to ever want to watch ever again. No disrespect to those who want to believe in a all mighty higher power, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny or whatever makes you sleep at night, it’s solely up to you (and yes I am an atheist). Though personally I found this film, story, plot and the religious theme to be offensive, disrespectful to other religions, judgemental, peer-pressured into believing and turning towards Christianity and outright blasphemous. Who the hell do these people think they are telling other people what to do and who to believe in? if they want to believe in another God so leave them be. When it all comes down to it people, if their is a all mighty and a heaven i think he would want everyone to respect the values/thoughts/decisions of other individuals and look pass the colour of there skin, sexual preferences and no matter what religion they turn to. Because in the end we all go to the same bright light, despise what Christians or any other religious person thinks. Before watching this film I had much respect for the Christian community and their beliefs. But now, well lets just say they have dropped a few notches in my respect belt.
The Moment After is a low budget independent film that is only targeted to those who are truly proud Christians, will only find and type or sense of enjoyment out of this film. To anyone else it will be obviously a 85 minutes of your life wasted on religious propaganda. Even Sony Pictures Home Entertainment had a little comment about this film before it started, stating that "The following Interviews and Commentaries are for entertainment only. The views and opinions expressed therein are those of the individual speakers and do not necessarily represent the views and opinions of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment or any of their respective affiliates or employees.".
I honestly cant find any good in films like this, so I think its best if I just end this review right now by singing a little song called “If ya Jesus and you know it, then clap your hands…If ya Jesus and you know it, then clap your hands.. If ya Jesus and you know it, then you really need to show it. Then clap your hands”. Those who didn’t get that little atheist joke, Jesus cant clap his hands as he is nailed to the cross… DUH.
