It’s Halloween night and video store clerk Stan Helsing (Steve Howey), has to deliver a bunch of videos to a customer before heading off to a Halloween Party with his best friend Teddy (Kenan Thompson), Stan’s ex-girlfriend Nadine (Diora Baird), and an ex- stripper named Mia (Desi Lydic). What starts out as a simple video delivery soon turns bad though as Stan Helsing and his friends find themselves being chased down by a group of masked serial killers who, for some strange reason, want to kill them. Stan and his friends hide in the old abandoned Stormy Night Estates, where he learns his true destiny. It turns out that Stan is a descendant of the legendary monster-hunter Van Helsing. Soon Stan and his friends then have to face the ultimate showdown between six of the biggest movies monsters of all time Fweddy (Ben Cotton), Michael Crier (Lee Tichon), Needlehead (Charles Zuckermann) Pleatherface (Twan Holliday), Mason (Ken Kirzinger) and a killer stitched-face-doll named Lucky (Jeff Gulka), in a karaoke battle off between good and evil.

Bo Zenga's Stan Helsing is of course a tongue-in-cheek horror spoof that pays out on some of the most recognised horror icons (Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead, Chucky and Jason Voorhees) ever created in Hollywood. Zenga cleverly removes the blood, guts and gore and replaces it with elements of laughter, adult humour and busty-boob-babes all rolled up into a Scooby-Doo comedic themed tone. Another prized treat is a cameo from Naked Gun’s Leslie Nielsen playing a cross- dressing waitress who clearly wears way too much lipstick. Bo Zenga's Stan Helsing is a film that is not meant to be taken seriously, even though many slasher fans will probably palm this film off for disrespecting their favourite slasher. For those of you who enjoyed the Scary Movie franchise then you are definitely going to get a kick out of this film. It’s an over-the-top, hilariously funny, sexy and extremely wacked-out film designed for mature audiences with a horror sense-of-humour.
